Choose your library folder

Where your articles, notes and chats are saved, and why it is a folder you own.

The first time the reader opens it asks Where would you like to store your data? Click Choose Folder and pick or create a folder, for example Documents/RapidReader.

Everything you save goes there as ordinary files: each article is a Markdown file, with its notes, quizzes, flashcards and chat in files beside it. Your settings are saved there too.

If the folder already has a library

Choose a folder that already holds a RapidReader library (from another computer, or a backup) and RapidReader offers to load it.

If you don’t choose a folder

RapidReader keeps your library in the browser’s own storage for the extension. It works, but it isn’t as easy to back up, and it goes if you uninstall. You can choose a folder later.

Using a different folder later

Go to Settings → About → Change folder….
