A name people can find, and a guide

  • The store name now says what it does: Speed Reading, RSS Reader & AI Chat.
  • A Guide link in the reader opens the new User Guide.

Voices that read

  • macOS novelty voices that sing or make sounds are left out of the voice list.

2.7.0 – 2.7.1 · October 19, 2026

Asks before reading the web

  • Permission to fetch web pages is asked for the first time you need it, not at install. Why.
  • A right-click on a link no longer asks again after you said yes.
  • Ready for the Chrome Web Store, with a clean upgrade from version 1.0.

2.6 · September – October 2026

Reconnect that sticks, and chat leftovers

  • Reconnect restores folder access in one click, and remembers if you refused.
  • Change folder… in Settings, and an optional pinned reader tab.
  • Chat about this 🗨️ on any library item; see which passages a reply used.
  • A context-window setting for Ollama, current AI models and prices, and current image models.

2.5 · September 2026

AI Chat, made safe and made good

  • Chat with whole books: long backgrounds send only the relevant passages.
  • The cost of a message shown before you send it.

2.4 · September 2026

Triage, vault editing, reading history

  • Freshest First sorting, News / Evergreen / Reference, and a Quick filter.
  • Edit your library in Obsidian or any editor.
  • Reading stats: streak, calendar, speed over time.
