“Your folder is disconnected”

Click Reconnect and Allow. More in “Your folder is disconnected”.

A web page, link or feed won’t load

If your browser asked to let RapidReader fetch web pages and you said no, click Allow on the banner in Feeds, or try again and choose Allow. Some sites block automated reading or need a login; your library says so and offers Re-fetch.

AI chat gives an error

• Invalid key: check the key in Integrations, and that your account has credit.
• “Ollama refused the request (403)”: run the OLLAMA_ORIGINS step in Free, private AI with Ollama, then quit and reopen Ollama.
• “Will not be sent”: switch the chat to Relevant passages, clear some history, or pick a model with a larger window.

A PDF won’t open

Password-protected PDFs can’t be read. If it’s a link, download the file and import it with Browse.

The voice list has odd voices, or none

RapidReader leaves out macOS’s novelty voices that sing or make sounds. If the list is empty, your system has no voices installed for your language.
